Five dead, 7 injured in two separate accidents in West Bengal
Kolkata, Aug. 10 -- Five people were crushed to death and seven others injured while three of them seriously injured in two separate car accidents in West Bengal, official sources said today.
In the first incident, a Kharagpur-bound maxi-truck laden with goods lost control and hit into at least three roadside shops at Panskura last night, killing three people instantly and injuring four others.
The mishap occurred on National Highway 16, where the 16-wheeler struck a stationary shop, a pan shop, and a tea outlet located along the highway.
The four injured have been taken to the Tamralipta Hospital in the district where the condition of three was critical.
The truck's driver and his helper fled the scene, abandoning the vehicle. Police late...
