Bengaluru, Dec. 25 -- Five people have been confirmed dead and three are missing following a major road accident near Chitradurga in the early hours of Thursday, while 25 others have been safely evacuated and are out of danger, IGP BR Ravikante Gowda said.
"As of now, four bodies have been recovered from the sleeper bus and one from the container, bringing the confirmed death toll to five," he told reporters here. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. when a container truck crossed the median and collided with a moving sleeper bus carrying 32 passengers, he added.
Following the collision, the sleeper bus caught fire, leaving one passenger with 15-20 percent burn injuries, who was admitted to a Bengaluru hospital. The remaining 25 passengers...
