Shahjahanpur, Nov. 20 -- Sanjeev Kumar, an inspector in the Fisheries Department, was arrested red-handed by the Bareilly Anti-Corruption Organization Team after allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs 1 lakh for registering a cooperative society.

He was caught in the court premises while accepting an advance payment of Rs 20,000 from Mahesh Kashyap, a resident of Roshanagar village in Dadraul and an active worker of the Nishad Party today.

The accused was taken to Tilhar police station, where an FIR (first information report) is being lodged against him.
