Pratapgarh, Oct. 31 -- The Vigilance Establishment team from Prayagraj today arrested Fisheries Development Agency Officer Vikas Kumar red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 14,000. The officer, posted at the Fisheries Department office in Vikas Bhawan, was caught during a trap operation based on a written complaint filed three days earlier.
According to Vigilance officials, the complainant had applied for approval of a fish farming project. Officer Vikas Kumar allegedly demanded Rs 14,000 to move the related file forward. Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance team laid a trap and reached the office around 1:00 PM today in plain clothes along with the complainant.
