Srinagar, Oct. 3 -- The first-ever automobile rake arrived at the Goods Shed in Anantnag district today, marking the Valley's maiden direct rail delivery of new vehicles from manufacturing plants, officials said.

The rake, carrying over 116 passenger vehicles by Maruti Suzuki, including models like Brezza, Dzire, WagonR and S-Presso, departed from Maruti Suzuki India Limited's in-plant Gati Shakti Terminal (GCT) at Manesar Delhi on October 1 and reached the Anantnag railway terminal early today. The rake crossed the world's highest railway arch bridge over Chenab river.
