New Delhi, Aug. 9 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi today lauded the arrival of the first freight train to the Kashmir Valley, which he termed as great for commerce and connectivity that would boost progress and prosperity in the region.

"Great day for commerce and connectivity in Jammu and Kashmir! It will enhance both progress and prosperity," the PM posted, responding to a post on X by Union Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announcing the development.
