Itanagar, March 8 -- India's highest bi-lane tunnel, the Sela Tunnel, situated at an altitude of 13,000 feet, marks its first anniversary on March 9.
The tunnel was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 9, 2024.
The tunnel has significantly enhanced connectivity to the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh, facilitating the seamless movement of tourists, locals, and military convoys throughout the year.
To commemorate the occasion, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju visited the tunnel in West Kameng district and extended his heartfelt compliments to the entire team behind this engineering marvel, a Defence spokesman said on Saturday.
