Itanagar, June 6 -- Security forces launched a coordinated operation along the Indo-Myanmar border in Arunachal Pradesh's Longding district, following specific intelligence inputs regarding the movement of armed cadres in the general area of Pongchau circle.
As the patrol moved through dense forest, they encountered suspicious movement and issued a challenge.
In response, the patrol came under heavy and indiscriminate fire from unknown individuals wielding high-calibre weapons. The security forces responded swiftly and effectively, engaging in an intense firefight, a Defence spokesperson said on Friday.
