Dhaka, Nov. 7 -- A fire broke out in a pile of discarded wood in the vicinity of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant in Ishwardi, Pabna, on Thursday afternoon.
The fire was brought under control within 45 minutes.
The fire was first noticed around 12:30 pm in a heap of discarded wood, eyewitnesses said, Daily Star reported.
A fire station located about 300 yards from the plant dispatched a unit immediately after receiving the report.
Later, eight units-including those from Rooppur Modern, Green City, Rooppur Temporary, and Ishwardi fire stations-joined the operation.
The fire was brought under full control by around 1:15pm through combined efforts. No casualties or major damages were reported.
