Ankara, July 13 -- Three people, including a three-and-a-half-month-old baby, were killed after a fire engulfed a 26-story apartment building in Turkiye's capital Ankara, the semi-official Anadolu Agency reported Sunday.
The blaze reportedly began at around 10 p.m. local time (1900 GMT) Saturday on the fourth floor and quickly spread through the building.
Emergency teams, including firefighters, police, medical crews, rushed to the scene. Residents were evacuated from the building as the fire raged.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control after about four hours of efforts. Cooling operations at the site were still underway as of Sunday morning, said the report.
