Mumbai, Oct. 26 -- A massive fire broke out in a high-rise residential tower in Kandivali area of Suburban Mumbai today.

According to details, the fire broke out on the second floor of the 16-storey residential building in the Shankar Lane area of Kandivali, where eight people were rescued.

During rescue operation, they suffered from smoke inhalation, however their condition is reported to be stable, authorities said.

Upon receiving information about the fire, the firefighters reached the spot quickly and doused the fire within 20 minutes.

Among the eight rescued in this incident, two were men, three women and three children, including a 3-year-old.
