Thrissur, Jan. 4 -- A fire broke out at the outsourced two-wheeler parking area outside Thrissur railway station early Sunday morning, but prompt action by authorities ensured that there were no casualties or disruption to train services.

The incident occurred around 6:30 am at the parking facility located near the second entry gate of the railway station.

Station officials immediately initiated emergency measures to prevent any loss of life and alerted the Fire and Rescue Services.

"Fire tenders were quickly mobilised and deployed, and the blaze was brought under control within half an hour," officials said. A few two-wheelers parked in the area were gutted in the fire.
