Kolkata, Nov. 15 -- A massive fire broke out at a multi-storied building housing electrical goods shops at the congested Ezra Street near Lalbazar in central part of the city where over 20 fire fighting vehicles were deployed to combat the flames, official sources said on Saturday.
Scores of shops in the building have been destroyed before the fire fighting personnel began to douse the plume of flames. The DC Central, who visited the site, said they have evacuated people around the building and there have been no report of human casualty in the blaze, which was first noticed around 5:30 AM.
A businessman, whose shop was reduced to ashes, said each and everything in the building were destroyed and they have been ruined by the blaze.
