Tokyo, Sept. 29 -- A fire broke out in a building on the grounds of Haneda airport in Tokyo on Monday morning, but there are no delays or suspensions of flights due to the fire, local media reported.

An emergency call was made shortly after 9:00 a.m. local time that "black smoke is visible" from a building on the Haneda Airport grounds, public broadcaster NHK reported, citing local police and the fire department.

More than 30 fire engines and other vehicles have arrived on the scene to extinguish the fire, and firefighting operations are still ongoing, NHK said.

NHK footage showed black smoke rising high at around 9:10 a.m. local time, but it appears to have weakened after a while.
