Ghaziabad, Feb. 13 -- A fire broke out late Thursday night at the residence of BJP leader Mansingh Goswami in the DLF Colony of Shalimar Garden, Ghaziabad. Goswami is the regional vice president of the party's western Uttar Pradesh unit.
The incident occurred while Goswami and his family were asleep. They were alerted by loud explosion-like sounds. By the time they came out of their room, the exterior of the house was engulfed in smoke and flames. The family managed to escape by jumping onto a neighbour's terrace, as the main door could not be opened due to the fire, police said on Friday.
