Shimla/Una, Nov. 21 -- Property worth lakh of rupees was destroyed in a fire that broke out at the official residence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Una, Mahendra Pal Gurjar on Friday morning, an official spokesman said, adding the fire was brought under control in time, averting a major accident.
Sources said smoke and flames were suddenly seen rising on the upper floor of the ADC residence.
As soon as the fire broke out, chaos broke out in the neighborhood, including the residence and people came out of their houses in fear.
The fire spread so fast that the bed, LED TV, furniture and other household items kept in the room were caught in the fire.
