Ranchi, Sept. 16 -- A fire broke out in the early hours today at the Jharkhand PoliceHeadquarters in Dhurwa, damaging several systems and equipment at its data centre.

According to officials, the blaze, suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit around 5 a.m., spread through the development section where core functions such as CCTNS, in-house software operations, and the Special Branch's HRMS were housed. More than a dozen computers, air-conditioning units, and some furniture were gutted.
