New Delhi, March 3 -- On World Wildlife Day, the Indian Army's Fire and Fury Corps and the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department of UT Ladakh signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen wildlife conservation in the region.

The initiative focuses on preserving Ladakh's fragile ecology and conserving species such as the Snow Leopard, Himalayan Wolf, Bharal, Ibex, Marmot and Black-necked Crane, along with their habitats, under the Global Snow Leopard Ecosystem Protection Programme.

The MoU was signed in the presence of Lt Gen Hitesh Bhalla, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps, and Ashish Kundra, Chief Secretary of UT Ladakh.
