Rae Bareli, Dec. 23 -- : An FIR has been registered at Harchandpur police station against a sub-inspector posted at Bachhrawan police station and nine others on the orders of a court, following allegations of assault and extortion at the home of a differently-abled man, officials confirmed on Tuesday.
The complainant, Vishwas alias Saurabh, a resident of Daudpur in Harchandpur, alleged in his petition that on the night of June 18, five to six men forcibly entered his house and assaulted him while he was lying on a cot. He claimed the accused tried to take him away, identifying themselves as personnel from Bachhrawan police station. One of them allegedly introduced himself as a sub-inspector and demanded Rs 1 lakh, threatening an "encounter...
