Mumbai, Aug. 6 -- The city police have registered an FIR (first information report) against two ophthalmologists, a father-son duo, after five senior citizens lost their vision after they underwent cataract surgeries in their private clinic here. According to details, the senior citizens allegedly developed eye infections after the procedure which eventually led them to lose eyesight. Based on a report by the civil surgeon, the Vashi police have registered an FIR against the duo under various sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) as well as provisions of the National Medical Commission Act, officials said on Wednesday.
