Kochi, June 11 -- A case has been registered against the owner of sunken cargo ship MSC ELSA3 by the Fort Kochi Coastal Police on Wednesday.
The ship owner, ship master, captain and crew members of the sunken cargo were framed in the First Information Report (FIR) under various sections, sources said.
The FIR says that the ship carrying hazardous chemicals and explosive substances was operated in a negligent and unsafe manner causing danger to human life, marine ecology life and environment.
The police filed case against the sunken ship following criticism that the government was trying to help the owners of the vessel by collecting compensation from insurance company.
