Chandigarh, July 29 -- An FIR has been lodged against Haryanvi singer Masoom Sharma in Chandigarh for performing the banned song 'Chambal Ke Daku' during a live concert at Punjab University (PU).
The song, which has garnered over 250 million views on YouTube, was prohibited by the Haryana government for promoting gun culture. The same concert witnessed the brutal murder of Aditya Thakur, a second-year PU student, in a violent clash.
Police have arrested four suspects in connection with Thakur's death. According to their statements, an altercation broke out due to overcrowding as attendees were leaving the concert.
