Mumbai, May 24 -- The registration of an FIR against Dalit activist Pushpa Sathidar and two others by the Nagpur police for reciting Faiz Ahmed Faiz's iconic poem "Hum Dekhenge" has ignited widespread controversy and condemnation.

The FIR, which includes charges of sedition and promoting enmity under sections 152 and 196 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, was filed following a complaint from a local resident after the poem was recited at a public event in Sitabuldi.
