Mumbai, Oct. 15 -- Mumbai Police have registered an offence against a group of ten students at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences for allegedly holding an event to mark the death anniversary of former DU professor and human rights activist G N Saibaba.

According to police, the event was held without obtaining the permission from the TISS managemen. They had also raised slogans in support of former JNU students Sharjeel Imam and Umar Khalid, who are currently behind bars in a Delhi riots case.

Police has registered offences under various sections of Bhartiya Naya Sahita , including illegal assembly, causing prejudice to the nation and causing enmity between various groups, TISS manageent had lodged a police complaint.
