Moscow, May 30 -- Finnish flag carrier Finnair had to cancel about 110 flights on Friday due to industrial action by the trade union seeking higher wages for employees, Finnish broadcaster Yle reported.
The report said that the strike would last four hours and affect ground service and aircraft maintenance.
Finnair has estimated that the strike will affect about 8,000 passengers, but pledged to offer new routes where possible.
The airline did not specify, how many flights it conducts daily, but, according to the information on its website, its network covers over 130 destinations.
