Hyderabad, March 30 -- Telangana Civil Supplies Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday said the state government's flagship Fine Rice Scheme is a direct outcome of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's vision, asserting that the entire credit for the initiative goes to him.

At an informal interaction with the media at the Assembly premises, the Minister said the government is spending Rs 14,560 crore annually on the scheme to ensure that the poor have access to quality food.

"Our objective is to ensure that the poor can eat their fill by providing them with fine rice. Despite the financial burden, the government is committed to the welfare and upliftment of the poor," he said.
