Bengaluru, Sept. 12 -- Kannada filmmaker S Narayan's daughter-in-law Pavithra has lodged a dowry harassment complaint against him, his wife Bhagyavati, and their son Pavan at Bengaluru's Jnanabharathi Police Station, police said today.
The police have issued notices to Narayan, Bhagyavati and Pavan, directing them to appear for investigation.
In her complaint, Pavithra alleged that her husband and in-laws repeatedly demanded more dowry and compelled her to financially support the family as Pavan was unemployed. She claimed that she had to pledge her mother's gold ornaments to help fund the family's "Kala Samrat Film Academy," which later shut down.
