Chennai, Nov. 22 -- Expressing concern over Karnataka intensifying its effortsto construct a new dam at Mekedatu across River Cauvery, which has caused deepanguish among the farmers in Cauvery delta region, PMK President Dr AnbumaniRamadoss today urged the ruling DMK to file a review petition in the SupremeCourt to stall it and convene an All Party meeting to discuss the issue.
In a statement here, he also urged the DMK government to take all steps to allay thefears of the Cauvery delta farmers.
He claimed that all the dams built across the Cauvery and its tributaries in Karnataka,including Kabini, Harangi, Hemavati, and Suvarnavathi, were built due to the allegedbetrayal committed by the DMK when it was power in Tamil Nadu.
