Visakhapatnam, Dec. 6 -- Former India captain Virat Kohli, adjudged Player of three-match ODI series against South Africa, offered rare insights into the mental challenges of sustaining a long international career.
Despite 15-16 years at the top level, Kohli admitted that self-doubt is an ever-present companion, particularly as a batsman where a single mistake can end an innings.
"When you play for that long, you do doubt yourself. Especially as a batsman when one mistake can get you out. It's a whole journey of getting better and getting better as a person along the way," Kohli said.
He emphasised that facing these challenges has helped him grow both as a player and as a person, sharpening his temperament and resilience.
