Geneva, May 15 -- FIFA President Gianni Infantino has said world football's governing body
is targeting one billion U.S. dollars revenue for the Women's World Cup, with all the money to be
put back into the growth of women's football.
The 2023 Women's games hosted in Australia and New Zealand generated more than 570m U.S. dollars in revenue and the 2027 edition will be held in Brazil. Infantino said there is huge potential
for the sport to generate revenue outside Europe.
"The global football GDP (gross domestic product) in one year today is around 270 billion U.S. dollars, of which about 70 percent is produced in Europe," he said at the Saudi-U.S.Investment Forum in Riyadh on Wednesday.
