Patna, April 30 -- Bihar Education Minister Sunil Kumar on Wednesday said female literacy had increased to 74 per cent from 34 per cent during the regime of Nitish Kumar government in Bihar.

Kumar told media persons here that focus was given on increasing female literacy in Bihar since 2005 when Nitish Kumar government was voted to power in the state.

Following sustained efforts of the government, female literacy rate had increased to 74 percent from 34 percent in Bihar, he added.
