Lucknow, April 17 -- To boost eco-tourism and environmental conservation in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board (UPETDB) will appoint 18 Eco Tourism Fellows and one Programme Coordinator to enhance infrastructure, empower local communities and preserve the environment, sources said here on Thursday.

Sources said that a detailed action plan has been presented to Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh, and the programme will roll out once approved.

"The selected fellows and the coordinator will take on several key responsibilities, including the implementation of ecotourism projects, conducting training and awareness programs for local communities and stakeholders and promoting eco-tourism destinations across the state,"...
