Bengaluru, Aug. 23 -- The Karnataka government's decision to invite Booker Prize-winning author Bhanu Mushtaq to inaugurate the world famous Mysuru Dasara festival this year has triggered controversy, with several organizations voicing strong opposition.

Led by Federation of All Organizations President Shivakumar Naik, a delegation is scheduled to submit a memorandum to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot today, urging the state to withdraw its decision.

Speaking to reporters, Naik said, "The Chief Minister must immediately reconsider the move to select Bhanu Mushtaq for the prestigious Dasara inauguration. As a Muslim woman unfamiliar with Hindu traditions and rituals, she cannot do justice to the event."Naik further alleged that questions arou...
