Nagpur, Oct. 16 -- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Vigilance Department, Nagpur Division, has seized contaminated and substandard food items worth Rs 58 lakh, including edible oil, cheese, curd, khoya and sweets, officials said today.
The department has intensified inspections across Maharashtra under its special campaign, 'Festivals of Maharashtra, Resolution of Food Safety'. The ongoing drive aims to curb the sale of adulterated and unsafe food products ahead of major celebration such as Diwali.
