Mumbai, Feb. 23 -- The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has unearthed a huge unauthorised drug storage in the city, seizing medicines valued at lakhs of rupees during a raid in Dharavi, an official said on Monday. The operation was carried out in the Kumbharwada locality, where medicines were being stocked without the mandatory licence.

According to officials, the Intelligence Branch of the Mumbai FDA received specific information that M/s Apna Medical and General Stores, based in Sion, had been storing saline and other pharmaceutical products at a separate premises in Kumbharwada without obtaining the required approval.
