Dumka, Sept. 28 -- A road accident claimed the life of a man and left his son seriously injured when a speeding truck ran them over on the Govindpur Dumka Sahibganj road in the Masalia police station area of Dumka district this morning.
The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Naresh Marandi, while the injured son was identified as Shivanarayan Marandi.
The injured was rushed to a local nursing home for treatment.
According to police, the incident occurred around 7 a.m. near Gotidih Mor, when a cement-laden truck coming from Jamtara hit the father-son duo.
Naresh Marandi, who was riding a bicycle, and his son were standing by the roadside discussing farming when the truck struck them.
