Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 10 -- Air passengers at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will soon enjoy quicker and smoother immigration clearance, with the Bureau of Immigration under the union Ministry of Home Affairs set to roll out the Fast-Track Immigration- Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) from September 11.
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will formally inaugurate the facility through video conferencing at 11.30 am. The launch will be held at the Departure Immigration Area of Terminal-2 of the airport.
The FTI-TTP is designed to streamline immigration procedures for Indian citizens and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders by providing dedicated e-gate access.
