Srinagar, Sept. 17 -- National Conference president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah today ruled out any deliberate attempt behind the recent closure of the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, attributing the disruption instead to natural causes.

Speaking to reporters in Anantnag, Abdullah said politics continues to dominate every sphere of life in Kashmir, and insisted that the highway disruption was not man-made.

"They are saying that it was a deliberate attempt. No deliberate. Tell me, did people bring down the mountains? Did people bring down the rains? Or was it the wrath of Allah?" Abdullah remarked.
