Lucknow, May 4 -- Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Sunday that farmers in Uttar Pradesh will not just be beneficiaries of government schemes, but active partners in the state's overall development.
During a review meeting of the Agriculture Department, the CM said, "In the new UP of a new India, farming will not just be a means of livelihood but a foundation for prosperity and self-reliance."
During the meeting, he discussed the current status of the agriculture sector and said that while UP accounts for 11.41 percent of the country's total agricultural land, it contributes 20.89 percent to national food grain production.
