Kolhapur, Nov. 29 -- The District and Sessions Court here today acquitted Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana (SSS) national president and former MP Raju Shetty and his 80 workers of the serious charges registered during the sugarcane agitation in Shiroli tehsil of this district in the year 2011.

After the hearing, Sessions Judge Kashyap acquitted all 80 SSS workers and their leader Shetty of charges framed under sections 302 and 307 of Indian Penal Code, nearly 15 years after registration of the offences.
