Fatehpur (UP), March 12 -- A 50-year-old farmer was murdered by unidentified miscreants by slitting his throat with a sharp-ecdged weapon in Hathgam area of Fatehpur district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Dhawal Jaiswal said that Ram Baran Yadav, a resident of village Iraitpur village in the area, was irrigating his wheat field from a tubewell last night when some unidentified persons slit his throat with a sharp weapon, causing his death on the spot.
He said that no one has been arrested in this connection so far. "Efforts are being made to identify the attackers with the help of surveillance," he said.
