Una(HP), July 24 -- Fall armyworm, an invasive insect pest, has attacked maize crops in the districts of Una and Bilaspur of Himachal Pradesh, leaving farmers worried. This insect can cause damage to the maize leaves and corn cobs overnight, threatening the hard work of farmers.
In response to the outbreak, the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has directed the Agriculture Department to ensure quick and effective action for farmers.
To protect the maize crop, the Agriculture Department has made insecticides including Coragen and Chlorpyrifos 20 EC available in all development blocks. Departmental officials have advised to spray Coragen in the whorl of maize leaves, either in the early morning or evening. The sp...
