Lucknow, Oct. 17 -- A man impersonating an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer has been arrested near Kamta bus station in Lucknow's Chinhat area, police confirmed today.

The accused, identified as Dr. Vivek Mishra, had been absconding for six years and is accused of defrauding over 150 people, with the total amount estimated at around Rs 80 crore.

His arrest follows an extensive investigation led by the Crime Investigation Department (CID), which had been tracking him since 2019. The case was originally filed by Dr. Ashutosh Mishra, a Supreme Court lawyer and resident of Vikalp Khand in Lucknow.
