Moradabad, April 2 -- A major GST fraud has come to light in the Katghar area of Moradabad, where a businessman allegedly claimed excess Input Tax Credit (ITC) worth Rs 2.73 crore by showing bogus purchases exceeding Rs 23.31 crore, officials disclosed on Thursday.

According to officials from the State Tax Department, the accused, Anshul Agarwal, a resident of Lajpat Nagar, had registered a firm named EMG Foods and obtained a GST number on July 13, 2017, using his residential address.
