Paonta Sahib/Solan, July 6 -- A joint team of the Himachal Pradesh Drug Control Administration and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) has busted a racket involved in the supply of fake Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) near Paonta Sahib bus stand in the Sirmaur district.
Based on a tip-off, a surprise raid was conducted at a wholesale drug premises holding a valid license till December 2028. During the inspection, two APIs - Thiocolchicoside and Azithromycin suspected to be fake-were recovered.
Drug Controller Dr. Manish Kapoor said the fake APIs included Encrythiocolchicoside, used for muscle spasms, and Azithromycin, a common antibiotic. The owner failed to provide any purchase records and has been detained....
