Chennai, Jan. 14 -- The third stage of the ill-fated Indian rocket PSLV-C62 that veered off its flight path on January 12, 2026 seems not to have exploded and was intact at the time it went down.
The PSLV-C62 carried DRDO's EOS-N1 Earth Observation Satellite and 15 other co-passenger satellites which could not placed in the orbit.
A former senior official of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), not wanting to be quoted said: "The officials are studying the data generated during the rocket's flight. The meetings are going on.""There is no evidence of stage explosion. The third stage is intact," the person added.
About four minutes after lift off the PSLV-C62 rocket's third stage ignited and later the engine shut down.
