Mumbai, Sept. 21 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for police modernisation, stressing the need for a tech-driven approach to policing. He emphasised that the Indian Constitution provides sufficient checks and balances, enabling officers to enact transformative reforms using existing laws.

The Chief Minister noted that colonial-era statutes like the Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act are being amended to fit India's democratic framework.
