Mumbai, Dec. 17 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today met NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in order to discuss the political consequences which could arise after a Nashik district court issued an arrest warrant against Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, which could lead to Kokate facing a two-year jail term and a probable exit as a cabinet minister.
Earlier on Wednesday, Ajit Pawar-led NCP leader and Maharashtra Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West after a court in Nashik ordered his immediate arrest in a 1995 case for forging documents and acquiring flats meant for low income category people from the chief minister's quota.
