Nagpur, Dec. 13 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Congress party for questioning the Centre's decision to rename the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA), asserting that the move will bring positive outcomes for rural development and employment.

Addressing reporters during an event here, Fadnavis dismissed the Opposition's criticism as predictable and unworthy of serious attention, saying Congress opposes the government even when its policies benefit the people.

He maintained that the Modi government has ushered in a "very positive change" that will significantly boost growth in rural areas.
