Nagpur, Sept. 3 -- Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today expressed satisfaction over the successful resolution of the long-standing Maratha reservation issue, praising the efforts of the Cabinet subcommittee.

Speaking to reporters here, he congratulated committee chairman Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and all members for their contributions, emphasizing that the legal solution reached by the subcommittee helped end the hunger strike of activist Manoj Jarange-Patil.

The government had been prepared to implement the Hyderabad Gazette, but Jarange-Patil's demand for blanket reservation was legally unfeasible, Fadnavis said.
